Southfield, Michigan

Southfield is located in eastern Michigan, just 15 miles (24 kilometers) northwest of Detroit. It is part of Oakland County, and is home to 78,296 people.

The Millennium Centre is Southfield's premier entertainment and conference venue and seats more than 1,000 people. A variety of performances take place throughout the year, including Broadway-style musicals, symphony concerts, jazz and dance performances, and movie premiers. Speaking of movies, Star Theatres Southfield is one of the busiest theaters in the country, with 20 screens and 6,225 seats. The spectacular décor alone is worth the price of admission, and includes 3D murals from ET, King Kong, and an almost life-sized replica of Tiger Stadium. Other cultural attractions include the Lincoln Park Historical Museum and Park West Gallery. Park West is every art connoisseur's dream, and puts up more than 1,000 works each month for exhibition and auction.

Southfield also offers great recreational facilities, including three golf courses, a sports and ice arena, swimming pool, 30 miles (48 kilometers) of trails, and nearly 750 acres (304 hectares) of parkland.
