St. Louis Park, Minnesota, is a primarily residential suburb of Minneapolis, located a mere six miles (10 kilometers) southwest of the city in Hennepin County. It was incorporated as a village in 1886, and as a city in 1954, and was named for the Minneapolis & St. Louis Railroad, which passed through the area. True to its name, St. Louis Park has plenty of green space to enjoy, with 11.5% of its land set aside for parks, and with bike trails that link the community to downtown Minneapolis and other areas.
