Tamuning, Guam

Located in the North Pacific Ocean, about three-quarters of the way from Hawaii to the Philippines, lies the lush tropical island of Guam. An unincorporated territory of the United States, it is the largest and southernmost island in the Mariana Islands archipelago.

Tamuning is on Guam's northern shore, and its economy is primarily dependent on US military spending. But with its elegant hotels, golf courses, and duty-free shopping, the island is attracting more and more tourists from nearby Japan. And, of course, being right on the ocean means visitors (and Tamuning's 11,500 citizens) have access to plenty of aquatic activities. Jet skiing, fishing and trawling, parasailing, snorkeling, and spinner dolphin watching are regular pastimes.
