Wetaskiwin, located about 75 km (46 miles) south of Edmonton and 88 km (55 miles) north of Red Deer, is an extraordinarily attractive community. In recent years, the city has won both the Community in Bloom award and the Tidiest Community in Canada award.

But don't think the 12,000 locals are too busy tidying to have fun. Whether they're shopping in the downtown area's many unique and quaint stores, watching the action at the Edmonton International Raceway, or cheering on riders at the Rawhide Rodeo, you can be sure people are out and about having a great time.

For more serious pursuits, Wetaskiwin is home to Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame – the only museum in the country devoted to Canadians who have made contributions to flight. The Reynolds-Alberta Museum has interesting interactive exhibits, and the By-the-Lake Park is a fantastic place to learn about local wildlife while hiking along the lakeside trails.

Close to Edmonton and Red Deer, but a world apart from anywhere else, Wetaskiwin is a wonderful place to live.
