George Burden is a family physician who practices
in the town of Elmsdale, Nova Scotia. He holds
the Quebec/Atlantic Canada regional chair for the
Manhattan based Explorers Club and is a freelance
travel journalist. His adventures have taken him
from the Arctic to the Antarctic, from the palace
of the King of the Ashanti to the burial chambers
of the Great Pyramids and from the cockpit of an
F18 in an aerial combat exercise to a deep sea
submersible in search of a torpedoed WW II RCN
vessel. Burden is a co-author of the book, Amazing
Medical Stories (Goose Lane/U. of
Toronto Press, April, 2003).
