The position is also responsible for setting work product quality standards, providing training and instruction in work product quality, and for auditing same, within the Research Operations Department.JOB REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors Degree in Science or Related Field ACRP, SOCRA and/ or RAPS Certified (or certification must be obtained within one year) 5-10 years clinical research supervisory experience with at least three years direct hands-on experience in oncology drug clinical trials. Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel). Strong organizational and management skills preferred. Position Overview:Analyze and abstract all pertinent data related to cases of malignancies treated by the Medical Staff. Place multiple physician office telephone calls or visits in an effort to obtain outside treatment information to complete the abstract. Assist in preparation of data and reports generated by the Cancer Registry. Maintains a basic understanding of the work flow in the Health Information Management Department. Informs supervisor of backlogs. Basic Qualifications: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or individual with equal qualifications possessing extensive knowledge of medical terminology, oncology terminology, anatomy, and physiology, diagnostic procedures, disease processes, staging and treatment. Basic knowledge of ICD-O or comparable coding system. Computer knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows operating system.
