Primarily located in Jacksonville, Florida, UFJHI also offers a great north Florida lifestyle with countless recreational activities, museums, orchestras along with professional and amateur sports.Scope of the JobUnder the direction of the Department Administrator and Chairman and in collaboration with Division Chiefs and Principle Investigators, the Research Manager plans and coordinates the Departments Research function and resources to include all personnel, protocols, logistics and clinical research practice. Assists in planned growth of Research function and recruitment of study participantsEssential FunctionsThe essential functions are the primary dimensions for performance review.1. Organize the research activities and establish Research Office for the Department to manage all Research operations. 2. Develop and maintain of a system of organized and easily retrievable regulatory and organizational documentation for all studies3. Make budget recommendations for safe and effective staffing utilization. Manage study budgets and ensure timely vendor billing4. Collaborate with Division Chiefs and Department Chairman to prioritize potential research opportunities and ensure appropriate resource allocation5. Determine and coordinate logistics and performance of new sponsored research protocols. Assign appropriate coordinator to study. Define timelines and goals for enrollments6. Supervise research staff and assure research trials are conducted according to protocols. Educate personnel on all aspects of clinical research; assign and support research personnel in their specific projects7. Ensure research trials are conducted within UFHSC, IRB and other regulatory requirements, budget parameters and study protocols. 8. Coordinate proposal development, budgeting, submissions, approvals and closeout through IRB and study sponsors. Organize study start-up and regulatory document collection Secondary FunctionsFunction as Clinical Nurse Coordinator as workload requiresMonitor quality of practice and delivery of careServe as resource for sponsors, physicians, clinicians, study coordinators, and other related professionals regarding protocols and procedures.Conducts Quarterly meeting with the Chairman, research attending, fellows and administrator to educate and discuss new and continuing studies. Publishes monthly study status report to ensure coordinators are current on items such as casebook completion, query resolution, IRB submissions, and to keep chairman, physicians and coordinators updated and current on the progress of all of the radiology research trials. Conducts and documents monthly meetings between the Principal Investigators and Coordinators of each trail to discuss enrollment problems, review of patient adverse events, IRB problems, upcoming trails, etc. Conducts weekly group coordinator meetings to discuss current studies, any problems that a coordinator may be having such as screening, enrollment, physician support, and workload. Other duties/tasks as assigned by the Department Administrator or ChairmanSKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE SkillsBusiness, operational and accounting experienceStrong PC and MS Office (PP, Word, Excel) skills.Knowledge in grant application processStrong interpersonal skills Ability to interact with variety of profession staff levelsExcellent verbal and written communication skills,Analytical skills to perform review of monthly financial reportsIdeal candidate will also possess skills in Marketing/Public Relations/BudgetingExperience-Minimum 2-year experience in Research strongly preferred, or 2 years experience in health care management and familiarity with UFJHI/PI research processes.-Minimum 2 years hospital nursing required.Education and CertificationsBachelor Degree in Nursing, Business, or Health Administration required; Masters Degree preferredLicensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Florida required
