Nemours BrightStart! creates innovative programs to support early identification and treatment for young children at risk for reading failure. We are seeking a Ph.D. level Research Scientist to join our program.This position requires a strong research background. Nemours BrightStart!s research program, using a model of T1 to T4 translational research, focuses on prevention of reading failure, especially in young children. This position is responsible for a variety of research activities, including the development and preparation of research and program evaluation protocols and grant applications, conducting statistical analyses, and writing manuscripts and website content relevant to Nemours BrightStart! research and outcomes. The individual must possess knowledge and aptitude in a range of research designs, quantitative and qualitative analyses, and program evaluation. Knowledge of best practices and current research in the area of literacy and a history of successful grant funding and publication are highly desirable. Essential responsibilities of this position include:*Plan, develop, and execute a wide range of research or evaluation protocols and grant applications*Prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals *Prepare and submit abstracts for presentations to internal and external audiences*Provide statistical analysis for research protocols and evaluation projects for Nemours BrightStart!*Prepare ongoing written analyses, and report on program outcomes for senior leadership and for other professional and community groups*Collaborate with Director of Research and Evaluation and other Nemours BrightStart! associates to identify grant funded research opportunitiesAssist in one of the most meaningful pursuits you could ever imagine: improving the health and well-being of all children.
