Dear Cindy

I am a novice nurse with one year of cumulative experience in medical, surgical wards across Canada and Australia through clinical placements for school and agency nursing work. I have returned to Canada since July 2009 and have applied to almost every hospital in the greater Toronto area of Ontario, with no results. My question is this: Why are hospitals posting jobs and saying they need nurses to apply and providing us links to apply, but not hiring?

I am currently a master's-prepared nursing professor in Ontario, Canada, and am very interested in teaching nursing in China. Do you know how I would go about finding a position? I already have a contact to teach the personal support care worker course but I would much prefer to teach nursing.

I received my medical coding/billing certificate in the spring of 2007 from Northampton Community College, Bethlehem, PA. I have been unable to successfully land a position in this field due to lack of experience in this area.
