Benefits
At EmCare, we work diligently to help our physicians find the hospital that’s the right fit professionally, geographically and emotionally. Because where you practice medicine is almost as important as why you do. Our team of placement professionals can help you find the facility that’s the perfect fit for you in a community that fits your lifestyle.

EmCare offers physicians the choice of flexible employment models, such as owned group practices, employee models, and independent contractor opportunities.

We offer sophisticated and highly competitive compensation packages that are performance-based. One of these is based on a Relative Value Unit (RVU) compensation system, which aligns physician compensation with productivity and complexity of case. This structure gives physicians credit for work done, while focusing on improved patient throughput and quality of care. Other incentive plans reward customer satisfaction or improvement in Emergency Department processes.

EmCare offers a risk management program proactively focused on reduced risk and positive outcomes through increased awareness, education and advocating the practical application of diligent patient evaluation and documentation. Our risk management initiatives are built around comprehensive information on malpractice claims.

EmCare puts a high premium on the professional development of its physicians. Our programs are developed and provided through the EmCare Leadership Institute and our wholly owned subsidiary, Emergency Medicine Education System (EMEDS). EMEDS provides intense and comprehensive training programs for emergency medicine education. The coursework has been approved for up to 82 hours of ACEP Category I CME. The programs include ACEP-approved Board Reviews, Oral Reviews and Risk Management courses with a track record of success:

96-percent passing rate of all EMEDS Board Review attendees
98-percent passing rate for recertification
99-percent passing rate for oral exam

The EmCare Leadership Institute consists of highly experienced emergency medicine physician leaders who facilitate training sessions to support the leadership development of our Site Medical Directors and staff physicians.

EmCare’s Internet Training System is an open-learning curriculum that supports on-site training for staff physicians with CME courses in EMTALA, compliance, documentation and risk management.
