Kelsey Trail Health Region is a progressive, innovative employer that provides career opportunities for more than 1650 healthcare workers. KTHR offers continuing educational opportunities, professional development, educational assistance, competitive compensation and benefits, and a range of workplace wellness initiatives. In addition, Kelsey Trail offers scholarships to students pursuing education in healthcare fields. The Kelsey Trail Health Region comprised of, the former North Central, North-East and Pasquia Health Districts, encompasses an area of 47,397 sq. km. and has an estimated population of 45,700. The region includes approximately 33 towns and villages and five First Nation communities. The region also includes a remote northern community, Cumberland House, Saskatchewan's oldest settlement. There are 3 District Hospitals providing 24/7 comprehensive acute care services; 3 Community Hospitals that provide 24/7 basic medical and emergency services; 5 Health Centres that provide various services unique to each; 11 long term care facilities; 16 First Responder groups with over 80 trained First Responders serving around the region. Incentives Saskatchewan Health is currently offering two grants for health workforce employees: a Relocation grant for $5,000 and a Northern/Rural/Hard-to-Recruit grant for up to $15,000. Funding is provided to health workforce employees who agree to provide a specified return-in-service commitment to work in the province.
