The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital (LACGH) , which was opened in 1966, provides primary and secondary care services to a rural community of approximately 30,000. The facility currently is a 32-bed hospital and has approximately 220 employees. The LACGH is undergoing expansion and redevelopment at this time to create a new state of the art facility to be completed in late 2008. Upon completion our Hospital will have a total of 52 beds which will include the following new/redeveloped units: Complex Continuing Care, Special Care (4-bed unit that provides primary coronary and respirology focus (non-ventilated)), Medical/Surgical, Emergency (24-7 coverage) Operating Rooms and Day Surgery. The Hospital is an affiliated teaching site for the Faculty of Health Sciences at Queens University Kingston and provides a hospital practicum for nursing students from community colleges in the area. The Hospital is proud of the expertise of its staff and their commitment to excellence in healthcare. The Hospital is fully accredited and is an active member of the Health Care Network of Southeastern Ontario.
