About
the Seton Family of Hospitals More
than a century ago, Seton originated in Austin, Texas
as a 40-bed hospital. In the last century, that one
hospital has grown into a comprehensive network with
more than 20 locations throughout Central Texas, serving
an 11-county population and caring for more than 250,000
patients annually. Seton is a member of Ascension Health,
the largest not-for-profit health network in the United
States. Our expanding network comprised of eight acute-care
hospitals, three community health centers and four
specialty care centers allows for numerous opportunities
for growth for our associates. Seton is home to
the region?s only Heart Transplant Center, Level
II Trauma Center, dedicated pediatric facility and
accredited teaching hospital. In addition, four Seton
hospitals have been granted Magnet status?the highest
award for nursing excellence given by the American
Nurses Association. No other Central Texas hospitals
have earned this prestigious designation. Our
