Sunrise Health Region provides services at six hospital facilities with acute care beds, 17 long term care facilities that provide care and comfort to an aging population, and six community health centres that provide a more limited range of services. The hospitals provide 185 acute care beds, almost half of them at the Yorkton Regional Health Centre. The 17 long term care facilities, which are located in all major communities in the region, provide approximately 850 beds for residents, including 60 beds at the Yorkton and District Nursing Home for Alzheimer's patients. The facilities also contain respite beds for occasional stays while family caregivers are away, and palliative beds. Some long term care patients live in semi-attached housing units. Adult day care programs are offered at nine of the long term care homes. Incentives Saskatchewan Health is currently offering two grants for health workforce employees: a Relocation grant for $5,000 and a Northern/Rural/Hard-to-Recruit grant for up to $15,000. Funding is provided to health workforce employees who agree to provide a specified return-in-service commitment to work in the province.
