In 1964, the University of New Mexico School of
Medicine became official and with its birth, the
Department of Internal Medicine. The Department is
relatively young, but over the years it has grown
and is now comprised of over 176 faculty representing
all the disciplines of Internal Medicine. The department's
faculty are nationally and internationally known
and its residency program attracts the nation's best.
Located in Albuquerque, NM, the faculty, staff and
residents provide patient care and research to a
culturally rich and diverse population.
