A Healing Hospital Mercy Gilbert Medical Center has been designated as a Healing Hospital® by the Baptist Healing Trust. In fact, for each of our first two years in operation, Mercy Gilbert was named the No. 2 Healing Hospital in the nation. As such, we have made a commitment to provide Radical Loving Care, which focuses on caring for caregivers who, in turn do an extraordinary job caring for patients. Every person in a Healing Hospital is a caregiver, regardless of his or her specific job description. "Mercy Gilbert Medical Center promotes a healing environment that helps patients to feel safe and comfortable, as well as reminds our staff why they chose healthcare as their line of work," says Laurie Eberst, president and CEO of Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. She notes that as a designated Healing Hospital, all staff and employees must undergo extensive training in this philosophy that promotes a culture of compassionate care. "They are reminded on a daily basis of our philosophy of radical loving care through touch pads installed outside each patient room that are engraved with the words Pause, Reflect, Heal." A "Best Place to Work" Mercy Gilbert was voted, by our employees, one of the Best Places to Work in the Valley in a survey conducted by the Business Journal of Phoenix and BestCompaniesAZ. Mercy Gilbert has made the list each year since opening our doors, and has been acknowledged for developing a unique corporate culture and work environment that promotes both personal and professional growth for its employees. As a smoke-free environment with a concierge service and soothing colors echoed throughout the hospital's design and furniture, Mercy Gilbert creates a tranquil and serene setting for visitors and employees alike. Mercy Gilbert is also equipped with the latest technology and wireless capabilities including computerized charting, state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, a PACS information storage system, a 64-slice CT Scanner and a Spectralink® wireless two-way communication system. Our high-tech high-touch environment at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center provides a serene environment of healing. While this is a new facility, it builds on the traditions established by Catholic Healthcare West for more than 100 years in Phoenix. As a strong community advocate, we will work together to deliver compassionate, high quality, and affordable health services, reaching out to the disenfranchised and partnering with others in the community to improve the quality of life for all.
