McLaren Health Plan (MHP) is a non-profit subsidiary
of McLaren Health Care Corporation, which began operations
in August 1998 as a clinic plan when it enrolled
its first Medicaid Managed Care member. Since then
MHP has expanded its product offerings, adding commercial
HMO, Point of Service (POS), self-funded PPO, and
Third Party Administrator (TPA) services. Membership
currently exceeds 58,000 in the HMO, 16,000 in the
PPO, and 45,000 in the TPA. Our service area spans
19 mid-Michigan counties with a focus to add another
three to five by 2009, and currently has a network
of over 3,000 providers in 11 Michigan counties.
McLaren Health Plan has achieved many milestones
that clearly demonstrate our abilities to successfully
meet the strategic initiatives at McLaren Health
Care Corporation, and accomplish all of the objectives
of the State of Michigan.
McLaren Health Plan
has achieved significant recognition from the National
Committee of Quality Assurance (NCQA) that is unsurpassed
by any Michigan HMO, and has received the Michigan
Association of Health Plan (MAHP) Pinnacle Awards
for Best Practices.
