Hello,
February is American Heart Month and February 10th-16th is Cardiovascular Professionals Week. To recognize these events we’ll focus on heart-healthy topics this month.
Can having a bad boss result in more than just a negative work environment? Aside from being the number one reason people quit their jobs, bad management can actually affect employees' mental and physical health. Read about how this stress can harm you and what you can do about it in Your Boss, Your Health.
Stem cell research has advanced and shown promising results for people like 55-year old Doug Hansen, a sufferer of severe heart problems.
Be motivated by a longer life and advance in the race towards a healthier lifestyle. Ken and Nancy took this Race for Life to heart after Ken experienced an unexpected, life-threatening heart attack.

Your Boss, Your Health
By Cynthia M Piccolo
According to many polls, the #1 reason for quitting a job is the boss. Management consultant and author Greg Smith created an entire article on the Top Ten Reasons Why People Quit Their Jobs in which every item was something that management does to drive staff away! Some of the reasons? "Management doesn't allow the rank and file to make decisions or allow them pride of ownership," "Management shows favoritism and gives some workers better offices, trips to conferences, etc." and "Management promotes someone who lacks training and/or necessary experience to supervisor, alienating staff and driving away good employees."

Dear Cindy:
I'm tired of the excessive hours that I work at my job, and want to look for something that allows me to have work-life balance. How can I get this across to employers?
Sincerely,
Enough!

Stem Cell Therapy in Thailand
By Michael J Moreton, MD
Doug Hanson,* a 55-year-old from the American Midwest, has spent most of the last 10 years battling heart problems. He has suffered several heart attacks and has had repeated coronary artery bypass operations and stenting procedures. At his last consultation with his cardiologist, he was told that his choices were either to have a heart transplant or to expect to die in the near future. With his history, Hanson had become somewhat of an authority on cardiac disease, and asked his doctor about stem cell therapy. Initially, his cardiologist was skeptical, but after some research, informed Hanson that the new technique was showing some promising results.

Race for Life
By Nancy Julien Kopp
Come along and watch a race with me. Set a goal, follow the course, and you achieve your dream. Sounds easy, doesn't it? But the distractions loom large, though in reality they might be ever so small. And if a few of life's distractions enter the picture, the outcome may disappoint you.
