Elk Street propertiesAssessment Database Online

The City of Albany has launched a web-based assessment database application. Residents are now able to search for and compare data from parcels around the city.

$5,000 Homeownership

Grant Program

Within the City of Albany’s “Midtown” area, there are several
different educational institutions. The colleges and university
located in this area are centers of activity and stability. These
institutions are essential in the growth and development of
Albany. The Program is focused on strengthening Albany
neighborhoods by increasing the rate of homeownership in the City.

Police Officer Exam

The City of Albany has announced the exam for Police Officer
to be held on November 15th, 2008. The deadline to submit all
applications is Thursday, October 16th, 2008.

City of Albany Parking Violations

Amnesty Program

The City of Albany has enacted a parking violations amnesty
program whereby the Treasurer and/or her designee may
cancel, in whole or in part, any penalties imposed for a traffic
infraction constituting parking, standing or stopping violations
issued within the City of Albany.

The parking violations amnesty amnesty program shall only
apply to such violations issued on or before July 31, 2008
and shall be effective for a period commencing September
12, 2008 and ending December 12, 2008.

Amnesty for such tickets shall only be available to individuals
prior to an immobilization device being placed on said
individual's vehicle and/or prior to said individual's vehicle
being towed pursuant to Chapter 359 of the Code of the City
of Albany.

Consolidated RFP Program for Program Year 35

The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is a federally funded program which was started in 1974 and which consolidated several categorical grant programs administered by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program provides local communities with flexibility to determine local priorities and projects. The City of Albany receives a formula allocation of funds each year. Eligible activities include housing rehabilitation, economic development, neighborhood preservation, public facilities, public services, neighborhood revitalization, and historic preservation.
