Grain Valley Parks and Recreation park maintenance employee Jerry Jones strings extra lights on the Mayor's Christmas Tree in Armstrong Park Monday in preparation for the lighting today at 6:30 p.m.

Deputy Fire Chief John Greene said the $1.6 million facility will allow firefighters and cadets to train at a new Fire Training Center at Missouri 78 and Powell Road that includes a state-of-the-art burn building to simulate possible situations firefighters may face on the job.
