The Lake Wales Arts Center has something for everyone. It is a treasure trove of visual art and music located in the charming historic building at the corner of State Road 60 and 11th Street in Lake Wales, Florida. The Lake Wales Arts Center is owned and operated by the Lake Wales Arts Council and offers a year-round variety of classes, concerts and exhibitions in a state of-the-arts gallery.

The Lake Wales Arts Center is open to the public Tuesday - Friday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 1 - August 31. From September 1 - May 31, the Arts Center is also open Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. There is no admission fee. Visitors may enjoy our currnt exhibit in the Michael Crews Gallery, the Permanent Collection throughout the building and the historic, Spanish Mission-style building, formerly the Holy Spirt Catholic Church built in 1927.

"A Sense of Africa" exhibit

Featuring MaryAnn Heinzen in the Michael Crews Gallery. The exhibit opening will be held on October 23, 2008 from 5 – 7 p.m. and will be on display until January 16, 2009. For more information about this exhibit and others, please visit our exhibitions page.

Upcoming Events at the Lake Wales Arts Center:

Arts Bus Tour ~ December 4, 2008 ~ 8:30 am
Join the Lake Wales Arts Council for an art-filled day trip to St. Petersburg, FL. The bus will leave the Arts Center at 8:30 am. The first stop on this fun tour will be at the newly expanded St. Petersburg Museum of Fine Arts. After lunch, the tour will continue to the Salvador Dali Museum. The bus will be arriving back in Lake Wales by 5 pm.


Thomas Pandolfi Concert ~ January 15, 2009 ~ 7:30 pm

Thomas Pandolfi is a sensational young pianist who excels in reviving the core repertoire from the golden age of pianism. A graduate of the Julliard School of Music, he has performed in solo recitals and with orchestras throughout the United States and Europe. He has received praise for his interesting and innovative programming and has produced several CD recordings. He is considered a leading interpreter of the works of George Gershwin.
