Welcome to the North! My name is Lisa McShane and I represent the physiotherapists in Northwest Territories and Nunavut. I have the pleasure of meeting with branch presidents from all over Canada and learning about new developments that are occurring across the country. This is an exciting time to be a Physiotherapist as governments move toward primary health care and look to all health care providers, including physiotherapists, for suggestions on how to improve health care access. This website is intended to help you stay in touch with what is new in our profession. Occasionally I will update this message to include any new CPA information.
If you have questions about or ideas for our Association, you can e-mail me by clicking on: NWT and NU Branch .

If you are not an Association member but are thinking of coming to live and work in the NWT or Nunavut... ...welcome. Check out the links on the right hand side-bar for information on the NWT and NU.
You should know that neither the NWT nor NU has a licensing College of Physiotherapists so to practice here you must be licensed by one of the Canadian provincial Colleges of Physiotherapy. To find out more click on the Alliance of Physiotherapy Regulators link at the top of this page.
Malpractice insurance is availble through the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
