LAKEWOOD - With the discovery of four more Oriental fruit flies in Lakewood traps over the past two weeks, agricultural officials have decided to expand the area targeted for eradication efforts to combat the crop-destroying pest, it was announced today. 

LONG BEACH - The Long Beach Symphony has a new director, filling the spot vacated last August by Jack Fishman.

Nancy James Fox is the organization's new executive director, chosen unanimously by the Long Beach Symphony Association Board of Directors on Monday.
