Forest Park, IL... Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is on the road to providing district transportation for East and West students by February of next year.

At last Monday's board meeting the PTHS 209 Board of Education was briefed on a transportation timeline that would make busing services available for Proviso East High School students beginning in late January. Proviso West students' transportation will begin mid February.

PTHS 209 has been working toward district wide transportation since March of this year. The program was originally slated to begin when school started in July, but additional planning was needed before rolling out this major initiative. District administrators and board members say they look forward to the improvements that a transportation program may bring.
