Education Foundation Grant |
Genevieve Goldstein, a teacher at Pajaro Valley High School, is one of only five recipients nationwide to receive a $10,000.00 Teacher Development Grant from the McCarthey Dressman Education Foundation. The grant, which is renewable for three years depending on eligibility, will fund the “Interdisciplinary Curriculum and Technology Integration” program.

Bilingual Multi-Media Projects |
Under the direction of teacher Peg Weiser, 22 Newcomer students from Rolling Hills Middle School create bilingual multi-media projects about their future careers through partnerships with the Digital Arts Alliance and the Pearson Foundation.

$25,000 Grant |
PVUSD Physical Education team secures $25,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Santa Cruz County to help students monitor their heart rate and set personal goals. The grant will help to improve the physical education program at numerous schools in the district.

Staff Recommended Changes |
A new PDF document lists various changes that are being recommended to the Board of Trustees for approval at the School Board meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 25, 2008. If these changes are approved by the Board of Trustees, the recommended changes will be imbedded into the El Master Plan document that is also posted on this district website.

Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources |
The Pajaro Valley Unified School District is pleased to announce that Dr. Albert J. Roman was selected as the Assistant Superintendent-Human Resources at its June 11, 2008 Governing Board meeting. Albert will begin his duties on July 1, 2008.

Selection of a New Superintendent |
The Pajaro Valley Unified School District Board of Trustees announced today their selection of a new Superintendent. After a statewide search, Dorma Baker was selected as the right match for our district. Currently Ms. Baker serves as an Assistant Superintendent in the district.
