Progressive Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular

Rushmore Plaza Civic Center — December 23
World-class performers and U.S. Olympic gold medalists are coming to Rapid City for a premier holiday event. Gymnasts, Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson, will headline the Progressive Skating and Gymnastics Spectacular on Dec. 23 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The show is scheduled for national broadcast on January 18, 2009 on NBC and will also feature Olympians Todd Eldridge, Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto and many others.

Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo

The fast-paced action of rodeo moves indoors January 30th – February 8, 2009 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo features ESPN/PRCA Extreme Bull Riding, bronco busting, stock shows, as well as free entertainment and interactive displays for the whole family.
 

Primal Quest chooses Rapid City

Primal Quest presented by SPOT, the World's Most Challenging Human Endurance Competition, comes to South Dakota next summer. This expedition length adventure race will pit coed teams of four against one another as they run, bike, and paddle their way, non-stop, across 600 miles of backcountry. The Black Hills and Badlands will cut a dramatic backdrop for these world-class athletes as they compete on the biggest stage in their sport in August of 2009.
