G.H. Dawe Elementary School recently received some great news.
They have been selected as the lucky beneficiaries of the Chapters Love of Reading Program. Their school is guaranteed to get at least 50 books and any donations over and beyond the contribution from Chapters will go back to the school in the form of a credit or additional books selected by customers that they deem appropriate for our library. The program will run between November 1st and December 15th.
They were asked to select 50 books that would enhance the library. Those books are on display at Chapters, along with a trifold containing pictures of the school. People wishing to make a donation or purchase one of these books for the school may do so at the store.
Can you imagine a childhood without books? The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has already committed $6.0 million dollars for high-needs elementary schools. You can be part of the movement to spread a love of reading among the children of Canada.
The Indigo Love of Reading Foundation has a vision of a future in which provincial governments step up and fund schools appropriately, giving every child across Canada equal opportunity to live up to their potential and fulfill their dreams. Until then, Love of Reading is dedicated to putting books in the hands of children
