Be The Dinosaur -- Now Open at the Science Station's Lindale Mall Location through December 31

Through a first-of-its kind blending of interactive computer simulation pods and traditional exhibits, visitors travel back in time 65+ million years.  Be The Dinosuar is brought to you through the generosity of Eureka Exhibits and sponsored locally by ITC Midwest.  DinoTalks free programs are listed in the events calendar.  Also plan to visit the DinoStore at our location.

NOTE: The computerized, interactive stations contained in this exhibit appeal to, and are best navigated and understood by, those aged 7 and up.  Younger ages may sit in a separate vehicle and watch a narrated video about dinosaurs, view the fossil replicas, explore the fossil dig box, and sit on the laps of older visitors at the simulation stations.  Your continued input on this exhibit is greatly appreciated.

Can you help us out?  We need weekend volunteers at Lindale--please download, complete, and mail the volunteer application to us ASAP!  We also need a retail sign board (free-standing) for Lindale.  Please call 363-4629 if you have one you can donate or lend us.  Thanks so much.

Downtown Location Closed Until Further Notice

The Science Station's downtown location is closed indefinitely due to the aftermath of the June floods. The building has now been winterized, and full-time staff are officing on the top floor. Planning is underway to determine how we can best serve the community's critical need for science and technology education. Photographs of the flood damage and the recovery process are posted in the Photo Gallery section of this website.

Local Museums Honor Science Station Memberships

Effective immediately, Science Station family memberships are being honored at the Iowa Children's Museum in Coralville. Two adults and all children under 18 living in the household may visit the ICM free of charge through December 31, 2008
by showing their Science Station membership cards. Visit their website at www.theicm.org.

The Carl and Mary Koehler History Center in Cedar Rapids is also providing free admission to Science Station Members until we reopen to the public. Visit their website at www.historycenter.org.

Mission:

The Science Station is a science and technology center which provides entertaining learning experiences that inspire and stimulate the imagination.
