About the district: We are the largest district in B.C. and one of few growing districts in the province. We have 124 schools located in Surrey and White Rock, and offer a wide range of education and support programs to students of all ages.

Surrey has top two boys AAA volleyball teams in the province
The Semiahmoo Totems and Fleetwood Park Dragons volleyball teams faced each other in the gold medal game of the provincial championships November 29, a battle which went the full five games and ended with a triumphant Semiahmoo winning the final game 15-13. December 3, 2008

Innovative Community-Schools Partnership program expands into Cloverdale
Six more elementary schools — three in Cloverdale — have joined the successful Community-Schools Partnership program; extending community services to more Surrey neighbourhoods for families experiencing financial or other barriers to participating in community and leisure services. New school names chosen
The Surrey Board of Education has decided on the names for three new elementary schools to open in the next two years. December 1, 2008

New Panorama Ridge Secondary wins provincial soccer championship
A dramatic win by the Panorama Thunder boys soccer team has netted the school the B.C. Senior AA soccer championship. The win is a significant accomplishment and milestone for Panorama Ridge Secondary school, which only opened two years ago. November 21, 2008
