All Aboard the New BLT!

 

The Bedford Local Transit (BLT), the Town of Bedford ’s public transportation service, is offering new destinations beginning October 6, 2008!  The BLT offers scheduled fixed runs to shopping malls, hospitals, and medical offices and also on-demand door-to-door service within Bedford . Anyone may ride the BLT.  The BLT uses a wheelchair-accessible van. 

The BLT is funded in part by the MBTA.

 

Fixed Route Service

The BLT offers fixed route service to the Burlington Mall, Lahey Clinic, the Billerica Mall, Billerica Plaza , Emerson Hospital , and the Baker Avenue Medical Offices in Concord .  To ride on a fixed route run, either board at any of the stops at the times listed, or alternatively, flag down the BLT along its way during the time of the fixed route run.

 

On-Demand Service

During those times when there are no fixed route runs, the BLT offers door-to-door on-demand service to destinations within Bedford .  To arrange a door-to-door ride, call the BLT at 781-275-2255 between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. for a ride later that day.  Rides are arranged on a first-come, first-serve basis and all slots may be taken before 9 a.m.

 

Fares

The fare for all riders is $1.00 each way in-town and $2.00 each way out of town.  Riders must pay their fare as they enter the bus.
