POSITION REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Help maintain departmental patient satisfaction goals.
2. Expresses pride in being a member of our healthcare team. Conduct is a positive reflection on our hospital. Takes responsibility for safety of work and surrounding area. Focuses on the customers' needs by striving to do the best job possible. Adheres to organization, facility and department policies and work practices. Works to ensure support, safety, care and well being for all patients, families and co-workers.
3. AKG performed with 100% compliance on yearly check-off by supervisor.
4. Performs stress testing as needed. Documentation and processing of testing is complete and without error. To be determined by supervisor.
5. Prepares patients for examination and explains purpose and procedure to patient and/or family prior to and during procedure(s). Applies to all tests employee is required to perform (i.e.: EEG, Evoke Potential, EKG, Stress Test, etc.).
6. Notifies neurologist of any abnormal results that may need immediate attention.
7. Performs all necessary paperwork, charting and charging for procedures.
8. Organizes and maintains files on all neurodiagnostic and cardiology (as applicable) tests. Keeps work area organized, clean and stocked.
9. Coordinates schedule with on-call personnel. Covers stats as needed.
10. Assists with Cardiology procedures (EKG, Stress Testing, Muse Editing, etc.).
11. Maintains professional licensure, credentialing and required competencies (i.e.: REEGT, ACLS, PALS, etc.) in a current status at all times as required by the minimum qualifications of this position.
12. Manages routine assignments independently, manages time appropriately, prioritizes when managing assignments.
13. Documents complete care of patient. Performs thorough patient assessment and documents completely, completes necessary forms for tests and complete all appropriate charting on treatment flow sheets.
14. Collaborates in data collection and implementation of ongoing performance improvement standards.

16. Critical thinking skills are evident in providing patient care as demonstrated through direct observation and feedback. Assesses critical care patients and monitors status. Documentation is completed appropriately.
17. Demonstrates knowledge of, observes and complies with practices of hospital and departmental policies (i.e.: Emergency/Disaster Plan, Standard Precautions/Infection Control Practices and Safety Policies).
18. Uses time clock and does not submit avoidable exception forms.
19. Absenteeism and tardiness is not abused.
20. Works as a team player, willing to help and assist others.
21. Shows interest in job, is cooperative, pleasant and efficient, responds professionally to constructive criticism, offers assistance, is friendly and takes time to listen. Maintains a good, positive attitude.
22. Promptly shows courtesy to all customers in greeting and conversation. Personal conversations are held in private, away from customers. Allows only urgent personal phone calls to interrupt work. Communicates clearly and tactfully.
23. Consistently introduces self and presents self as a good role model when interacting with patients and families. Utilizes scripts in both face-to-face patient/family interactions and telephone conversations.
24. Meets the needs of the internal and external customer with dignity, respect and privacy. Empowers patients/families to participate in care, eases suffering and allows dignity for the dying and provides kind and compassionate care.
25. Maintains confidentiality of patient information, records, employee records, hospital and administrative information. Respects co-workers' privacy by refusing to gossip. Conversations between employees are conducted with discretion. Adheres to privacy/HIPPA.
26. Demonstrates justice and social responsibility, works efficiently, utilizes all resources in a cost-effective manner, adheres to organization's policies and procedures, actively seeks ways to reduce cost and conserves resources to improve results. Utilizes supplies/equipment with a minimum of waste, maintains awareness of available resources and alternatives and maintains accurate charges.
27. Assumes responsibility for personal and professional development and continuing education by attending departmental meetings, hospital events and classes, etc.
28. Participates in staff education.
29. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

1. HS Diploma / GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
2. ASET accredited, NDT program certification, REEGT preferred
3. Minimum of two (2) years experience performing EEG's and Evoke Potentials
4. Experience in adult and pediatric EEG's
5. Skilled in EKG's, two (2) years of stress test six experience preferred
6. Basic computer skills

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION

1. ASET credentialed/certified to perform EEG's
2. Current BLS Healthcare Provider Card
3. Current ACLS card
