Physical Therapy positions are available in Palmetto Health HomeCare and on both the Richland and Baptist campuses. This position provides physical therapy services, including evaluation and treatment of patients. Participates in administrative, operational and clinical functions of department, hospital and alliance. Key Responsibilities for HomeCare Physical Therapist: • Develops a Physical
Therapy plan of care for patients, performing appropriate
interventions, observing progress and altering
interventions based on changes in the patient's
condition/progress.
• Maintains acceptable
caseload, provides verbal and written instructions
for patients and caregivers for appropriate exercise
therapy and use of equipment. Includes a home program
on all applicable records.
• Documents, according
to agency policies, admission assessments, therapeutic
activity, team conferences, progress notes, recerts,
discharge planning, discharge summaries appropriately,
submitting paperwork in a timely manner.
• Confers with supervisor
and promotes/maintains communication with other
disciplines regarding patient care. Attends scheduled
team meeting and inservices.
• Is responsible for
evaluating, developing and updating the patient's
home program when a PTA is used as an adjunct to
the Physical Therapy staff. The PT will be responsible
for close supervision of the patient per agency
policy.
• Accepts and records
MD orders appropriate for patient care.
• Maintains the highest
level of professionalism, conduct and attire at
all times, seeking out opportunities for inservices
and literature review in order to maintain current
knowledge and practice. Key Responsibilities for On Campus Physical Therapist: • Provides physical therapy
services according to departmental and professional
standards of care.
• Participates in the
education of staff, students and volunteers by
sharing responsibility for both the numbers of
requests and quality of feedback from participants.
• Participates in program
development and implementation as determined by
departmental needs.
• Participates in interdisciplinary
team meetings/clinics as indicated by department/organization
needs.
• Participates in PI
activities by maintaining acceptable level of personal
achievement and assisting with data collection
and analysis
• Maintains technical
and clinical competency according to department/organization/professional
