Status: Temporary Full Time

Start Date: As soon as possible till December 07, 2006 or return of

Salary: $25.49 - $33.46 per hour

Hours: 0800 - 1600 with Saturday, Sunday, Stats off

Job Summary: Within the context of a client and family centred care model and in
accordance with College of Registered Nurses of British Colum(CRNABC)
standards of professional practice, code of ethics, and the established vision, and values of Vancouver Coastal Health, the Clinical Research Nurse assesses inpatients and outpatients of the Division of Haematology for admission into clinical research studies, coordinates clinical research trials in accordance with approved research protocols and ethics guidelines; acts as a member of an interdisciplinary team providing services to a client group which may require treatment over an extended time period. Acts as a resource on the research study for nurses and other health care providers in the hospital.

Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree in Nursing with one (1) year's recent relevant experience in clinical trials research, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current practicing registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia (CRNBC).

Broad knowledge of nursing theory and practice within a client/family centered model of care. Broad knowledge of CRNBC's standards for nurse
researchers. Broad knowledge of research methodology and ethics.
Demonstrated ability in clinical trials.
