Chinle Hospital
Title:
Labor
& Delivery-RN
Location:
Chinle,
Arizona
Description:
Got Hózhó? That's the Navajo
word for joy. Here on the Navajo Nation there's a great
mix of challenging healthcare and great quality of
life. Most of us walk to work (naanish) and enjoy our
small close-knit community.
We have a number of openings for Labor and Delivery Nurses - with experience or for those willing to learn. A L&D Nurse Educator will be available within the department - allowing interested nurses to receive great training! The Obstetrical Care Unit has 5 labor and delivery rooms, 12 post partum beds and a Level 1 Nursery. Current nurse staffing is 3 nurses per 12 hour shift, one nurse assistant and med clerk, one midwife and OB/GYN physician available on call and always readily available when they're needed. The OB team consists of 16 RNs, 4 Nurse Aids, 2 Med Clerks, 1 Nurse Supervisor, 7 midwives and 5 OB/GYN physicians who all work within a collegial environment. As a team we have the privilege of assisting an average of 60 births per month - where at least 30% of them still practice traditional birthing methods. It's a great life where "naanish ba hózhó" - work is joyful! Come and experience interesting work, the peaceful culture of the Navajo people and the beautiful land of the Southwest.
