Description: Heritage Lodge is looking for dynamic action-oriented individuals to join our team. Our goal is to foster an environment of care and support that incorporates family and community in the lives of the residents we serve.
Provides nursing care in accordance with administrative policies, physicians' orders, established standards and nursing principles and legislative requirements.
Is knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights and endeavours at all times to respect and promote it. Ensures Resident satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives are promoted.
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the principles of Restorative Nursing Care and appropriate application thereto.
Communicates pertinent Resident status information to oncoming Facility Manager(s)/ Resident Care Coordinator(s).
Keeps abreast of current nursing knowledge, skills, management and teaching trends. Actively pursues continuing education to promote professional growth and development.
Contributes to the development of a caring, competent Resident Care Team who are responsible and accountable for direct resident care activities via inservice, ongoing education and orientation.
Meets with the Director of Resident Care monthly to discuss objectives, concerns and related nursing issues.
Develops and implements Nursing Department objectives.
Ensures Nursing personnel follow Unit goals.
Facilitates the nursing process with respective nursing personnel. Ensures that the provision of Resident nursing care in accordance with the established standards of current nursing practice.
Prepares and administers performance evaluations for nursing personnel.
Ensures that Resident Care Conferences are scheduled and documented in order to enhance the Interdisciplinary approach to resident care.
Ensures that Initial/Ongoing Assessments and Care Plans are developed, implemented and reviewed.
Collaborates with Medical Staff and other members of the Resident Care Team within the facility and the community.
Acts as Director of Resident Care in his/her absence
