• Must be knowledgeable

• Must be knowledgeable
with CCHSA/ORCA standards.
• Must be knowledgeable
with therapeutic, texture modified and ethnic diets.
• Familiar with unionized
environment and language.
• Excellent knowledge
of food/supplies inventory, purchasing, production
and meal service in Long Term care.
• Must possess ability
to analyze challenging situations, show initiative
by actively seeking out opportunities to make a
contribution and provide assistance with problem-solving
and the development of action plans with Food Service
Managers/Executive Directors.
• Must have demonstrated
history of sound judgment and decision-making in
conflict situations as well as ability to take
direction and initiate processes appropriately.
• Must possess excellent
time management and decision-making skills related
to setting and managing conflicting priorities
and managing numerous tasks in a project setting
with minimum supervision.
• Must possess strong
interpersonal and team building skills as well
as a positive working attitude; ability to work
independently as well as an integral member of
closely focused teams and deal with all level of
staff.
• Must possess good written
and oral communication skills and ability to present
ideas in a well organized fashion.
• Must have proficient
computer skills using Microsoft Office applications(Microsoft
Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
and Synergy software program
• Minimum 5 years experience
in Long Term Care setting. Responsibilities: • Respond to emerging
high-risk situations in regional homes as required.
• Provide ongoing direction
and leadership to homes through the implementation
and monitoring of policies, procedures, goals and
objectives.
• Serve as a resource
to home on Food Service Operations through consultation
and in service education.
• Assist in the orientation
of new Food Service Managers for the region.
• Proved training for
Food Service Managers relating to Food Service
Operations: inventory, purchasing, production,
meal service, food service staffing levels, food
service budgets, synergy.
• Evaluate purchasing
and production procedures and assist Food Service
Managers to follow standard Central Care Corporation
practices developed by the Provincial Operations
Manager.
• Work with Food Service
Managers to evaluate equipment needs to meet present
and future food production requirements.
• Work with Regional
Dietitians to coach Food Service Managers to meet
Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and Public
Health standards and to provide high quality nutritional
care and food service to all residents.
• Monitor mechanisms
which ensure safe, secure handling of all food
and related products.
• Participate in work-related
conferences.
• Attend Food Service
Managers' meetings to provide updates, share resources
and assist in problem solving.
• Maintain confidentiality
regarding resident and home affairs.
• Perform other duties
as assigned by Director of Organizational Learning
and Development.
