POSITION REQUIREMENTS

HIGH DOLLAR OPTION
-10 shifts per month
-4 weekend shifts per schedule
-1 major and 1 minor Holiday based on approved CHW Holiday schedule
-20% Float Pool differential ( all shift differentials apply)
-Retirement package only
-No PTO or EIB accruals/No health and welfare benefits
-Entitled to extra shift policy

JOB SUMMARY:
Provides excellent care, in the role of Registered Nurse, for the patients of CHW East Valley Facilities. Must be willing to work in any facility and unit where employee has demonstrated competency at CHW's discretion.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Helps department maintain patient satisfaction scores at or above organizational standards.
2. Maintains current status of professional licensure/certification as required by position qualifications.
3. Manages routine assignments independently, consistently prioritizing when managing assignments.
4. Consistently introduces self and role when interacting with patients and families. Anticipates patient needs as evidenced by frequent updates to patient and family, notification of unexpected or expected delays.
5. Consistently completes walking rounds and utilizes scripts both in face-to-face patient/family interactions and telephone interactions.
6. Consistently utilizes Principles of Behavior including scripts and phone etiquette.
7. Manages patients' pain level through administration of medications, completed required pain documentation and patient re-evaluation as evidenced by chart review.
8. Meets unit pain goal.
9. Documents complete care of patient.
10. Directs and supervises assistive personnel (including, but not limited to, LPNs and CNAs).
11. Collaborates in data collection and implementation of ongoing performance improvement monitors.
12. Participates in staff education, in addition to mandatory requirements.
13. Develops the plan of care, including the discharge process.
14. Evaluates and modifies the plan of care, based on observable patient responses and attainment of expected outcomes.
15. Critical thinking skills are evident in providing patient care.
16. Demonstrates knowledge of, and complies with practices and plans such as Emergency/Disaster Plan, Standard Precautions/Infection Control Practices and Safety Policies.
17. Maintains confidentiality of patient information, records, employee records, hospital information system, and administrative information. Respects co-workers privacy by refusing to gossip. Conversation between employees and customers are conducted with discretion. Adheres to privacy/HIPPA policies, maintains confidentiality of charts/medical records and avoids "open" discussion of patients/patient status.
18. Participates in patient and hospital safety and quality programs such as fall prevention program and patient safety initiatives.
19. Participates in "Code Blue" and provides appropriate emergent interventions.
20. Demonstrates ability to identify, evaluate and manage chest pain.
21. Recognizes lethal dysrhythmias; provides appropriate interventions per ACLA/unit protocols.
22. Shows interest in job, is cooperative, pleasant and efficient, responds professionally to constructive criticism, offers assistance, is friendly and takes time to listen.
23. Promptly shows courtesy to all customers in greeting and conversations. Seldom holds personal conversation in front of customers. Only urgent personal phone calls interrupt work.
24. Expresses pride in being a member of our healthcare team. Conduct is a positive reflection on our hospital. Takes responsibility for safety of work and surrounding area. Focuses on the customers' needs by striving to do the best job possible. Adheres to organization, facility and departmental policies and work practices.
25. Demonstrates respect for patient and family dignity, empathy and privacy. Empowers patients/families to participate in care, eases suffering and allows dignity for the dying and provides kind and compassionate care.
26. Uses time clock and does not submit avoidable exception forms.
27. Works to ensure support, safety, care and well being for all patients, families and co-worker, regardless of race, religion, gender, social/economic status, or ability. Addresses the spiritual/cultural needs of others.
28. Performs daily duties with a responsible utilization of patient, hospital and community resources. Utilizes supplies/equipment with a minimum of waste. Maintains awareness of available resources and alternatives.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
1. Two years current acute care clinical experience.
2. Must demonstrate and maintain competency in at least 2 core areas of employment.
3. Previous experience with personal computers preferred
4. IABP Competency

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
1. AZ RN license or RN License from a Compact State
2. Current BLS healthcare provider card
3. ACLS Card
