TITLE (REQ ID): RN - STAFF NURSE (38282) DEPARTMENT: ENDOSCOPY EMPLOYMENT TYPE: PART TIME W/O BENEFITS SHIFT: DAY (VARIED) HOURS PER PAY PERIOD: 40 SHIFT HOURS: 10HOUR FACILITY: CHANDLER REGIONAL MEDICAL CTR LOCATION: CHANDLER, AZ POSITION REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Gallup overall Endoscopy patient satisfaction met. 2. Demonstrates ability to prepare equipment necessary for diagnostic and/or therapeutic ERCP. 3. Demonstrates knowledge of endoscopic disinfection and sterilization processes consistent with established protocols and guidelines. 4. Demonstrates knowledge in the administration and monitoring of patients receiving conscious sedation. 5. Assesses need for and assembles equipment necessary for control of gastrointestinal hemorrhage. 6. Maintains current status of professional licensure/certification as required by position qualifications. 7. Manages routine assignments independently, consistently prioritizing when managing assignments. 8. Consistently introduces self and role when interacting with patients and families. Anticipates patient needs as evidenced by frequent updates to patient and family, notification of unexpected or expected delays. 9. Consistently completes walking rounds and utilizes both in face-to-face patient/family interactions and telephone conversations. 10. Manages patients' pain level through administration of medications, completed required pain documentation and patient re-evaluation as evidenced by chart review. 11. Unit pain goal met. 12. Documents complete care of patient. 13. Directs and supervises assistive personnel (including, but not limited to, LPN's and CNA's). 14. Collaborates in data collection and implementation of ongoing performance improvement monitors. 15. Participates in staff education, in addition to mandatory requirements. 16. Develops the plan of care, including the discharge process. 17. Evaluates and modifies the plan of care, based upon observable patient responses and attainment of expected outcomes. 18. Critical thinking skills are evident in providing patient care. 19. Demonstrates knowledge of, and complies with practices and plans. Emergency / Disaster Plan, Standard Precautions/Infection Control Practices and Safety Policies. 20. Maintains confidentiality of patient information, records, employee records, hospital information system, and administrative information. Respects co-workers privacy by refusing to gossip. Conversation between employees and customers are conducted with discretion. Adheres to privacy/HIPAA, maintains confidentiality of charts and / medical records. Avoids "open" discussion of patients/patient status. 21. Participates in Patient and Hospital Safety and quality programs. Fall Prevention Program. Patient safety initiatives. 22. Demonstrates adherence to the Standards of Conduct and has completed and turned in the Standards of Conduct Acknowledgment card. 23. Fulfills compliance education requirements as directed by the Compliance Department or department management. 24. Attitude: Shows interest in job, is cooperative, pleasant and efficient, responds professionally to constructive criticism, offers assistance, is friendly and takes time to listen. 25. Communication: promptly shows courtesy to all customers in greeting and conversations. Seldom holds personal conversation in front of customers. Only urgent personal phone calls interrupt work. 26. Utilizes supplies/equipment with a minimum of waste. Maintains awareness of available resources and alternatives. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS 1. ADN, Diploma, BSN or Foreign Equivalent accepted 2. Endoscopy experience 3. Previous experience with personal computers preferred LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION 1.
