Mercy Gilbert Medical Center – Mercy
Gilbert Center, Gilbert's first hospital and the
East Valley's newest Catholic Healthcare West (CHW)
facility, opened its doors in June 2006. CHW has
a long tradition of caring for people in the region
since establishing the first hospital in the Valley
more than 100 years ago. Mercy Gilbert takes this
proud heritage into the 21st century, with a state-of-the-art
medical campus that reflects a $150 million investment
in the Gilbert community and the East Valley as a

Mercy
Gilbert Medical Center opened in June 2006. At present,
Mercy Gilbert Medical Center has 92 private rooms with
guest accommodations, with the capacity to expand to
400 beds over the next five years. Our expansion plan
includes an additional 102 beds to be opened in January
2008.

with its name. Mercy Gilbert Medical Center is a four
story, full-service, acute-care hospital spanning 60
acres. An additional 40 acres housing a medical office
building, research and lab facilities will complete
the campus. With 41 hospitals in Arizona, California
and Nevada, CHW is one of the largest healthcare systems
in the West.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Will
be responsible for assigning facility Evaluation and
Management codes and enter all charges for services
provided by the Emergency Room into Meditech. Must
maintain Emergency Room records in an organized manner
so they can be easily retrieved by Health Information
Department the day following service. Emergency Room
Record coding will also be required. Will be responsible
for assigning appropriate diagnostic and procedure
codes to ER records. Responsibilities will include
audits to be performed to ensure all codes and charges
are made promptly and accurately.
Ability to
work independently and coordinate with PFS and ER department
to address any issues with documentation.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Must possess certified Coding Credentials CCS,
CPC, or CCA. Prefer 1-2 years experience in billing
or hospital/physician based coding.
