POSITION SCOPE: Reporting to the Director, Addiction Services, the Manager, Withdrawal Management Services, is responsible for the planning, development, implementation, supervision, and evaluation of withdrawal management and nursing-related services. The Manager works collaboratively with program staff and other managers within Addiction Services and throughout the South Shore District Health Authority (SSDHA) to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of quality services, with priority given to achieving the Chronic Disease Prevention, Chronic Disease Management and Injury Prevention goals of the Community Health Portfolio. Demonstrating a commitment to continuous quality improvement, vision, leadership and strategic thinking, the Manager exhibits sound professional judgment and initiative while working within the framework and objectives of the Addiction Services Program and the Vision, Mission, Values and Strategic Directions of the SSDHA. QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor Degree in Nursing required, Masters preferred. - Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia. - Five years' recent nursing experience in the field of addictions, demonstrating a progressive increase in responsibilities. - Experience in labour management. - Demonstrated abilities in leadership, strategic thinking, creativity, communication, team building and interpersonal effectiveness. - Computer knowledge and experience - Microsoft Suite - E-mail, Internet. - Demonstrated exemplary work history and attendance in current and previous employment. - Physical capabilities to perform the duties of the position, such as working flexible hours; managing stressful situations; assuming occasional risk for some clients who may be hostile or confused due to chemical influence and/or other factors; working alone in a satellite office; and traveling within the District as necessary. - Valid Nova Scotia Driver's License and access to reliable vehicle.
