Purpose Of Job The Nurse is responsible for administering the diet, and providing guidance and treatment to patients. When problem areas are identified, the Nurse is to bring these matters to the attention of the Doctor for resolution. In addition, s/he is to provide excellent customer service when dealing with patients. Major Activities Medical Duties (75%) • Operate professionally,
ethically and with integrity according to the highest
medical standards and practices
• Ensure thorough knowledge
of all policies and procedures, products and clinic
services adhering to all protocols
• Provide comprehensive
program information to prospective and present
patients, responding to questions. At times of
uncertainty, refer issue to higher authority for
guidance
• Conduct consultations
for to groups (generally up to 10) of new patients
• Monitor and discuss
progress with patients ensuring appropriate completion
of all documentation (Patient and Diet Sheet Assessments,
Blood Work results, etc.) in a timely manner. Refer
all medical abnormalities to the attending Physician
and Supervisor
• Administer injections,
and ensure proper documentation of injection numbers
• Perform venipunctures,
urine tests and other vitals as required (venipunctures
are not applicable to BC/Alberta nurses)
• Communicate any problems/concerns
to the Supervisor
• Maintain yearly Nursing
Registrations providing a fax copy of same to Human
Resources
• Adhere to Company Dress
Code as identified in Policies & Procedures Customer Service (15%) • Greet patients in a
welcoming and professional manner
• Respond to enquires
or refer appropriately as required Sales (10%) • Encourage all patients
to browse the assortment of products available
for sale and promote as much as possible
• Promote the diet plan
to all prospective patients
• Phone past patients
to obtain an update on progress and invite them
to return as required Other Duties • Complete product and
medical supplies inventory and fax/email appropriately
as outlined in the Policy & Procedure Manual
• Become knowledgeable
and assist with Medical Receptionist duties as
time permits and as required
• Perform training duties
as required
• Assist other clinics
with daily operation as required
• Maintain clinic cleanliness
and neat appearance
• Perform other duties
as assigned by Supervisor and higher management Competencies: • Appropriate nursing
certification and preferably with a number of years
of applicable working experience
• Customer Service Oriented
• Excellent verbal and
written communication skills
• Pleasant and professional
manner, in person or over the phone
• Demonstrated ability
to work in a team environment and collaborate as
an active participant with others in assisting
with the delivery of care to patients
• Basic knowledge of
Microsoft office and Outlook Express
• Exceptional organizational,
time management, and prioritization skills
• Ability to work well
under pressure
• Ability to produce
high quality work in accordance with the clinic
