Our full-service medical laboratory serves inpatients, outpatients and off-site laboratory referrals of all ages (neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric)adding-up to 1.5 million tests annually (with 30% Outreach). State-of-the-art testing in performed in such disciplines as pathology, blood bank, hematology/coagulation, serology, chemistry and microbiology. The lab is accredited by the College of American Pathologists.

Under the general direction of the Vice President of Professional & Support Services, an incumbent for the position of Director of Laboratory Services is primarily accountable for the planning, implementation and operation of the department in order to meet the needs of the organization. The Director will provide leadership and expertise in the management of the department. Accountable for human resource management, financial management, and quality management for department and programs within incumbent's responsibility in support of the mission, vision and strategic objectives of YRMC.

Department staffing of 60 FTEs with decentralized phlebotomy. 9 direct reports consisting of 8 Supervisors and 1 Management Support Representative.

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent and registration with ASCP or equivalent.
Experience Required: 3 - 5 years of supervisory/management experience, Outreach experience preferred
Education Preferred: Master's Degree
Experience Preferred: 5 years or more previous supervisor/management
