Summary
of Essential Job Duties:
Provides statistical services
to researchers, clinicians and management at CSMC.
This includes statistical analysis and programming
support of medical research and clinical areas. Analysis
of medical research and non-research data includes
meeting with the investigator, defining the scope of
work and making a time estimate for the work, development
of an analysis plan, implementation of appropriate
statistical methods using statistical software, reporting
and interpretation of findings, review of study design,
and sample size and power determinations. Statistical
services include database design, data entry and screening,
data management and data analysis related to clinical
and financial outcomes. Sr. Statistician will work
with minimal supervision. Provides other related services
as required. Experience:
Bachelor's degree with
coursework in a quantitative field preferred. Some
background in statistics desirable. Excellent computer
competency required, including working knowledge of
spreadsheets, presentation development, word processing,
e-mail, browsers, on-line reporting, and analytic query
and reporting tools such as Brio, Crystal, Access,
or SPSS. At least two years of prior work experience
in an acute care hospital or other health care delivery
setting preferred. Ability to work in teams; ability
to work independently; ability to follow directions;
ability to manage completion of multiple tasks within
specified timeframes. Excellent verbal and written
communication skills, as well as quantitative analysis
skills are required. Or equivalent combination of education
and experience.
