PhyAmerica Government Services is seeking
qualified Art Therapist for a position in support of
the Psychological Health and Traumatic Brain Injury
(PHTBI) program at the Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth,
VA.
ART THERAPIST - Psychological Health This position will support the program which will address gaps in the care available for the prevalent injuries among combatants from the global war on terrorism. HOURS: 8.5 to 9 hours of service (includes an uncompensated 30 or 60 minute meal break). Hours range from 7:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Alternative schedules, such as a compressed work schedule, may be implemented. Specific hours and days shall be scheduled one month in advance. DUTIES: • Plan and direct art therapy through individual, group and family. • Organize groups according to the patients' capabilities, needs, and interest. • Prepares assessments for the multi-disciplinary team describing patients' symptoms and reactions to individual group and family therapy. • Have a working knowledge of the use of art and other assessment techniques as a diagnostic tool with individual patient and families. QUALIFICATIONS: Posses a Master's Degree in Art Therapy from an accredited college/university that is registered or pending registration. Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience within the past 4 years providing Art Therapy. Provide two letters of recommendation written within the last two years attesting to the health care worker's skills as an art therapist.
