St. Joseph's is home to: the internationally renowned Barrow Neurological Institute; St. Joseph's Children's Health Center, which is the second largest provider of comprehensive pediatric services in the state; The Heart & Lung Institute at St. Joseph's; and St. Joseph's Trauma Center, which is the only Level 1 trauma center in Arizona that's verified by the American College of Surgeons. POSITION REQUIREMENTS JOIN US NOW as we are seeking a qualified Health Unit Coordinator who attends the nursing station, performs clerical and reception duties, and requests supplies, equipment and services as directed. Performs clerical duties for patient admissions, discharges and transfers. Maintains Census Activity Worksheet and other pertinent records. Checks patient charts for completeness. Obtains patient records/documents as requested. Processes physician and other healthcare team orders. Transfers orders to appropriate forms/departments/personnel. Answers patient call lights and in-coming telephone calls. Directs calls to appropriate personnel. Communicates floor bed status with hospital staff. Educational Requirements: HS Diploma /GED required. Experience Requirements: 2 years of recent Health Unit Coordinator experience in a hospital envorinment. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently. Medical Terminology needed. License/Registration/Certification: BCLS certification required. Health Unit Coordinator certification preferred.
