Education: M.A./ M.S in Speech Language Pathology from an ASHA accredited University program;

Experience: Minimum of 1 year hospital experience preferred, Minimum of 2 years working with children who are deaf/hard of hearing ages birth-adolescence. Experience in the assessment and treatment of children who are deaf/HOH, including cochlear implant patients.

Ability to perform essential functions of the job including strong pediatric diagnostic and treatment experience with a variety of disorders and etiologies. Specific knowledge of and clinical experience with children who are deaf and hard of hearing; must have strong auditory-verbal skills and at least intermediate level sign language skills.

Knowledge of a variety of communication methods/treatment approaches needed as well as experience with related neurological based disorders, syndromes, language learning disabilities, multiple handicapping conditions and cognitive rehabilitation. Use of a multidisciplinary, family centered approach needed. Knowledge of appropriate technology and Spanish language skills desirable.
