Looking for registered nutritionist to work
with WIC cliental performing certification, nutrition
education, etc.
Qualification Requirements: Individual will have a degree in Foods and Nutrition and/or Dietetics from a certified college or university. Community Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition or Home Economics Education is also welcome. Individual will work 40 hours per week as assistant to WIC Director. Individual must possess valid driver's license. Individual must have sufficient computer knowledge in word processing and web-based application. Individual will be subject to federally mandated background checks and is subject to abide by all rules and regulations of the Spirit Lake Sioux Tribal Policies and Procedures. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Interviews clients to determine nutritional eligibility. This may include weighing, measuring, and hemoglobin determinations in addition to dietary and medical history evaluations. 2. Prescribes appropriate supplemental foods and issues food vouchers. 3. Establishes and carries through individualized nutrition care plans for moderate risk clients and carries through on high risk care plans at the direction of the WIC Director. 4. Provides nutrition education and drug abuse education to clients. 5. Encourages breastfeeding and provides ongoing support for breastfeeding clients. 6. Counsels and refers clients to appropriate health and social service agencies. 7. Maintains appropriate documentation of services and education provided to clients. 8. Reviews, selects or produces appropriate nutrition education and drug abuse education materials. 9. Assists in developing and implementing the annual education plan. 10. Performs other duties as assigned by WIC Director. Outreach Vendor Training and Monitoring Computer Input and Reports Administrative Activities 11.
