The town is located in east central Saskatchewan on the shore of the Quill Lakes, amidst prairie grainfields, aspen parklands, stunning sunsets, and northern lights. The Fishing Lake Resort, home to five regional parks, is in Wadena's back yard. The resort offers a wide range of recreational activities including boating, camping, fishing, swimming and golf. The Wadena Wildlife Wetlands and the Quill Lakes International Shorebird Reserve are a wonderful place for birding.
