Come and explore a prairie oasis and meet the friendly people of Wadena! The town is located in east central Saskatchewan on the shore of the Quill Lakes, amidst prairie grainfields, aspen parklands, stunning sunsets, and northern lights. The Fishing Lake Resort, home to five regional parks, is in Wadena's back yard. The resort offers a wide range of recreational activities including boating, camping, fishing, swimming and golf.
The Wadena Wildlife Wetlands and the Quill Lakes International Shorebird Reserve are a wonderful place for birding. Over 1 million birds come to the Quill Lakes annually, the largest salt water lakes in Canada. Walking trails with boardwalks and lookout towers let you explore freshwater marshlands, wildflower meadows, saline shorelines, and a waterfowl feeding station.
Wadena, a bustling town of 1500, is located 2 hours north-east of Regina, 2 hours east of Saskatoon, and 1 1/2 hours north-west of Yorkton. A full range of health care services are available including a 15 bed hospital, 46 bed Long Term Care facility, ambulance, therapies, mental health, home care, and public health services. A six-month fee for service Locum General Practice opportunity awaits you in Wadena. The Wadena Medical Clinic is located immediately adjacent to the integrated hospital and Long Term Care. Clinic space with low overhead rates is available.
Recruitment incentives include a relocation grant, car allowance and housing assistance. A Saskatchewan Medical License, Canadian Medical Protective Association coverage, Canadian residency/immigration status, and eligibility for membership on the Saskatoon Health Region Practitioner Staff are required.
