Job Summary: The Saskatoon Health Region is seeking a full-time clinical Cytogeneticist to provide leadership to our Cytogenetics Laboratory. The Cytogenetics Laboratory is integrated with the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan and the Department of Laboratory Medicine of the Saskatoon Health Region. The candidate will have an appointment with the University of Saskatchewan, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

Clinical responsibilities include review, interpretation, reporting and consultation of bone marrow, amniotic fluid and blood specimens for the province of Saskatchewan and clinical leadership for the Cytogenetics laboratory including the leadership of the quality program and development and implementation of testing algorithms. Volume of work allows time for pursuit of research interests.

Ideal candidates will have an M.D. and/or Ph.D. in genetics or a related field; CCMG certified/eligible in Clinical Cytogenetics. Salary levels are competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
