Plans, directs and implements the systematic
and coordinated delivery of Public Health Nursing care
within the scope of services of the department; consistent
with established professional, regulatory and governmental
standards and guidelines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Current State of Arizona RN license; ability to obtain American Heart Association BLS certification within 30 days of hire 2. Bachelor's degree in nursing (Master's preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 3. Must have 5 years Public Health Nursing experience ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Directs process of establishing a clear strategic direction for the Public Health Nursing department to ensure mission, vision and values are upheld and strategy is consistent with the annual organizational plan of the hospital. 2. Directs, manages and supervises daily administrative operations of the Public Health Nursing department to ensure highest quality developmentally appropriate patient care consistent with established professional, regulatory and governmental standards 3. Acts as an advocate for patients; promotes patient satisfaction by properly addressing patient needs and showing respect, courtesy and caring at every point of patient contact 4. Establishes and maintains staffing at appropriate levels to ensure timely patient care while maximizing productivity of staff 5. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal, state, licensing and regulatory requirements and practices 6. Develops, implements and maintains standards, systems and processes to ensure excellence of assigned areas which supports the mission, goals and objectives of the Corporation 7. Evaluates and selects equipment and supplies 8. Develops, manages and supervises purchasing and management of equipment and instrumentation to ensure availability of proper and functioning equipment for safe delivery of care 9. Works collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders to recommend, develop and implement methods/procedures for coordination of services with related patient care activities. 10. Plans, develops and manages department strategies and operational budgets to ensure provision of services consistent with desired objectives delivered responsibly 11. Develops and supervises staff through provision of timely feedback and use of appropriate Human Resource policies and tools to ensure maintenance of desired performance and quality standards 12. Participates in departmental orientation, on the job training and quality assurance programs/initiatives 13.
